Health First Announces Lori J. Hicks, RN, Center for Joint Replacement Care Coordinator at Viera Hospital
ROCKLEDGE, FL (July 15, 2013) – Health First is pleased to announce Lori J. Hicks, RN as its new care coordinator for the Center for Joint Replacement at Health First Viera Hospital. Hicks has been in healthcare for the past 29 years and prior to joining Health First Viera Hospital, she developed and implemented an orthopedic program at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, FL. Hicks received an Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Kettering College of Medical Arts in Dayton, OH.
The new Center includes a comprehensive program to educate, assist and support patients having joint replacement surgery (which includes hips, knees and shoulders). This includes classes prior to surgery so patients know exactly what to expect before, during and after joint replacement surgery. The Center is 17,714 square-feet and includes a 10-bed orthopedic unit (with the capability to expand to 20 beds), dedicated to high quality, compassionate care in a safe, healing environment.
The Center for Joint Replacement is also located at Health First Palm Bay Hospital, which opened in 2011.
