Sukanya Pachaidee, MD


Dr. Pachaidee was born in Northern Thailand near the Golden Triangle. She moved to the U.S. in 1983 and graduated with a nursing degree in Los Angeles. After several years as an RN and as a local volunteer in the medical community, she decided to enter medical school. During her pre-med, she volunteered in clinical research at the VA and took part in academic tutoring of the junior students.

She received her medical degree from St. George’s University where she had an opportunity to be trained in both the U.S and the U.K., including University College of London and Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital. Dr. Pachaidee completed her Internal Medicine Residency training at Albany Medical College and became board certified in Internal Medicine. She then entered Rheumatology fellowship training at New York Medical College and became board certified in Rheumatology.

Dr. Pachaidee has been in Brevard County and has been working with Health First since becoming a Rheumatologist in 2004. In addition to her regular role as a Rheumatologist, she also serves as an assistant professor at the University of Central Florida and as a Clinical Bone Densitometrist. She has taken on several clinical research projects as principle investigator and as a sub-principle investigator. She enjoys attending medical conferences regularly both nationally and internationally.

Her practice includes degenerative joint disease, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, soft tissue pain, i.e., bursitis, tendonitis and several autoimmune diseases. For several years, she has mastered the injection technique using an ultrasound-guided needle in order to increase accuracy. Dr. Pachaidee is also offering Platelets Rich Plasma injection, a cutting edge regenerative medicine which allows the body to heal itself.

Dr. Pachaidee’s treatment also focuses on diet and exercise and collaborates with primary care and other specialists to optimize the patient’s outcome. Her philosophy of treatment is aiming not only to be palliative, but to achieve disease remission when possible.

During her spare time, she enjoys taking part in sports car rallies, skiing, swimming, sailing, English Country Dancing and training her Goldendoodle puppy.
