1937 Fund

In honor of the community who supported and built Brevard Hospital in 1937, the Health First Foundation has established the 1937 Fund. The 1937 Fund is the cornerstone of all giving to the Foundation. The cumulative effect of annual gifts from our donors enables the Foundation to provide funding that supports our Health First hospitals, programs and services.

When you give, your donation may be restricted for use by a specific Health First hospital or program, or we can use your gift where the need is the greatest.

The Health First Foundation welcomes your participation in the life-saving and humanitarian efforts at whatever level is right for you. No gift is too small when it comes to serving the health care needs of our families, our neighbors, and ourselves.

All gifts to the Foundation make a difference. For example, $1,000 can provide:

Materials for two sessions of "Stop the Bleed", a life-saving trauma training program for first responders and others in our community.

One month of program support for grieving children at Bright Star, a program of Hospice of Health First.

Glucometer starter kits and test strips for 40 indigent diabetic patients.

Breast cancer treatment books for 50 newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.

Special heart pillows to assist 25 patients in healing following cardiac surgery.

Support towards a $2,500 scholarship for a Health First nurse pursuing an advanced nursing degree (Bachelors of Science in Nursing or Masters of Science in Nursing).

Help and hope, including counseling and resource referrals by The Center for Family Caregivers, a program offered free of charge through Health First Aging Services to caregivers and families struggling with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease or other dementia-related illnesses.

Why does Health First need financial support from me and our community?
