Moments that Matter - The heart of what we do.
February 06, 2026

February is National Heart Month - a time to recognize the people and purpose behind the care that truly saves lives.

Today, I want to thank our cardiovascular physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, technologists, perfusionists, therapists, and support teams. Their expertise, compassion, and teamwork make the difference when moments matter most.

As highlighted in our video presentation, our cardiothoracic surgery program has earned three-star STS ratings for bypass and double valve surgeries, placing Health First among the highest performers nationally. We offer nearly all FDA-approved treatment options, including advanced minimally invasive and catheter-based procedures that lead to shorter hospital stays and faster recovery.

But what stands out most isn’t just the technology or the data—it’s the team.

A comprehensive, collaborative approach. Open communication. Mutual respect. An APP-centric model that walks with patients and families from the first conversation through recovery. As Dr. Thierry Momplaisir, Interventional Cardiologist, shared, “Every day we step into the hospital, we have an opportunity to give somebody their life back.”

That’s the heart of our mission—to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve. And it’s reflected in how you show up. With integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence.

I encourage you to take a few minutes to watch the STS video and see the work of our cardiovascular teams reflected on a national stage. It’s a powerful reminder of what’s possible when dedicated people come together around a shared purpose.

Thank you for the lives you touch, the standards you set, and the heart you bring to this work.
