Our current agreement with Cigna ends on May 20, 2026. If Cigna does not agree to fair, sustainable rates to protect your access to local, vital care and services, Health First physicians and services will be removed from Cigna’s network.
We share your concern and being forced out of Cigna’s network is not an outcome we want. However, Cigna has refused to offer reimbursement rates and terms that keep pace with the rising cost of providing care. This comes despite Cigna reporting nearly $6 billion in profits in 2025, while asking providers like Health First to accept less to deliver your care.
Throughout the negotiation, we’re committed to giving you the information you need to understand what’s happening, the consequences of Cigna’s actions, and how you can advocate to keep your trusted Health First providers in-network.
What can I do to help make sure Cigna agrees to a contract and Health First stays in my insurance network?
- Call or email Cigna. Let them know how important it is for you to maintain in-network access to your hospital and physicians. Call the number on the back of your insurance card.
- If you receive insurance through your employer, contact your Human Resources or leadership team. Let them know you deserve and expect a benefits plan that includes reliable in-network access to high-quality, local care at Health First.
