Moments that Matter - Expanding access, elevating care at Palm Bay Hospital.
May 01, 2026

This week, we celebrated the opening of the new Vertical Care space in the Emergency Department at Palm Bay Hospital. This milestone reflects our continued commitment to improving access, enhancing quality, and delivering a better experience for every patient who turns to us in a moment of need.

Emergency care is often the front door to our system. It is where uncertainty meets urgency and where trust is built in real time. That is why this work matters so deeply.

Last August, we shared plans for an eight-bay Emergency Department Fast Track designed to improve efficiency and accommodate a third CT scanner. This new Vertical Care space is an important step forward in delivering on that commitment. It represents progress not only in what we build, but in how we think about access and flow across the entire Emergency Department.

Everyone benefits. Patients are seen more quickly. Care teams can focus where they are needed most. And those facing critical situations continue to receive immediate, uninterrupted attention.

This expansion strengthens something we believe at our core. Our community should be able to come to one place for all emergency needs, from minor concerns to life-threatening conditions, and receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

What makes this moment even more meaningful is how it came to life. Clinical teams, facilities experts, and project partners worked side by side to turn a vision into reality. Their dedication reflects who we are and how we serve. With integrity in our decisions; compassion in every interaction; accountability for outcomes; respect for every individual; and with a pursuit of excellence that pushes us forward each day.

This is just the first phase of a broader transformation. Looking ahead, we will continue expanding our imaging capabilities, including additional CT capacity, to further support timely, high-quality care. It is a continued investment in both our people and the communities who depend on us.

Our mission calls us to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve. Moments like this bring that mission into clear focus. Not as words on a page, but as action. As access. As care delivered when and where it matters most.

Thank you to everyone who made this possible and to those who will bring this space to life each day through their skill, compassion, and commitment.
